No drawing? No problem. Astro Tool & Machine Co. can take a worn, damaged, or obsolete part and reproduce it to the exact tolerances your equipment demands — no technical drawing required.

What We Do

Not every part comes with paperwork. Machines age, drawings get lost, and original manufacturers disappear — but your production line still needs that part. Send us a sample, and our team will:

  1. Measure & Analyze — We inspect your sample using precision measuring and inspection equipment to capture every dimension, tolerance, and surface detail.
  2. Recreate the Technical Drawing — Our engineering team builds a full technical drawing from the sample, using the same computer-aided design (CAD) systems behind our new production work.
  3. Match Material & Process — We identify the right material and manufacturing process to replicate the part's strength, hardness, and durability — not just its shape.
  4. Machine to Spec — Using our CNC lathes, mills, and grinding equipment, we produce the part to the same tight tolerances as an original.
  5. Inspect & Verify — Every reverse-engineered part is checked against the original sample before it ships, so fit and function match exactly.

This capability applies across our product lines — Rams, shafting, custom bearings, and other precision machine parts alike.

What to Expect

  • What to send us: the physical sample part (or detailed photos/measurements if shipping isn't possible)
  • What we produce: a matching technical drawing plus the finished, machined part
  • Where it applies: Rams, shafting, bearings, and general machine components across food & beverage, maritime, metalworking, industrial, and defense applications

Have a part with no drawing and no manufacturer to call? Send us the sample — we'll take it from there.

Fill out our quote form with your part number, drawing, or a sample photo, and any details on quantity or timeline — the more we know upfront, the faster we can get you accurate pricing.

It varies by job — factors like material, quantity, and whether a part needs heat treatment or plating all play a role. That said, we quote promptly, keep you updated along the way, and always ship when promised.

Either works. If you have a technical drawing, we'll quote and produce directly from your specs. No drawing? Send us a sample part and we'll reverse-engineer it to match — same precision, either way.

Absolutely. While we built our reputation in the canning industry, we manufacture precision parts for food & beverage, maritime, metalworking, industrial products, and U.S. Military clients as well. If it demands tight tolerances, chances are we can build it.

Yes. Our CNC and automatic machinery lets us scale from a single custom part to high-volume production runs without sacrificing precision. Whether you need one prototype or an ongoing supply of thousands, we hold the same tight tolerances on every piece.
